Mosquito Spraying Begins on Near West Side
According to the Centers for Disease Control, the first weeks of September should be the peak of the West Nile Virus season in northeast Ohio. As we pass over the hump, the Cleveland Department of Public Health has ordered the spraying of an insecticide, Anvil 2+2, in Old Brooklyn, Tremont and the area of Puritas & West 130th.
For an updated list of neighborhoods to be sprayed, visit the city’s West Nile web site.
For further information regarding the city’s plan for dealing with the mosquito-borne virus, call the West Nile Virus Hotline at 216/664-2769 or 664-2324.
