Talk About Recreation

If the YMCA had come to the community a year or two ago and asked for
input about how to preserve the neighborhood branches, would the
present crisis have been averted? There’s no way to know. But here is a
question that we can answer: If the City of Cleveland came to the
community now and asked for input about how to preserve and enhance
recreational opportunities in our neighborhoods, would we generate any
constructive ideas? Let’s find out, shall we?

As part of an on-going series of public forums on all aspects of civic
life, the city is now hosting a round of talks on Community Development
Block Grant funds, future green space needs and recreational
facilities. West Side residents will gather at St. Ignatius of Antioch
Church, 10205 Lorain Ave, on Thursday, December 5, from 6:45 - 9 pm.
The forum is sponsored by the Departments of Community Development,
City Planning, and Parks, Recreation and Properties. If you’re not able
to attend, call 216.664.2869 to ask how your comments can be submitted
for consideration.
