Still Saving Our Y
That’s right: the West Side YMCA remains open for business, thanks to a well-organized multi-neighborhood effort. Our thanks to the core group of leaders who continue to coordinate the Save Our Y campaign, and to the local Near West and Glenville businesses who have provided financial support for their efforts.

The reprieve granted these neighborhood branches is, at this point, temporary and of uncertain duration. How long they are to remain open depends largely on the community’s ability to demonstrate its support for member services at the branches. What better time than the New Year to follow through on your resolution to implement a fitness routine? Consider getting a membership at the Y or, if you’re already a member at another branch, transferring your membership to the West Side or Glenville branch.
