Concerts with Cookies
On the advice of my second-grade co-reviewer, I make special note of the following two musical events because the addition of light refreshments afterward sets them, well, a cut above the admittedly world-renowned Cleveland Orchestra.
• Sunday, February 9, 3 pm. Erik Mann: Classical Guitar Recital. Program will feature selections that span the 17th through the 20th centuries and the whole continent of Europe, from Scotland to Poland. This is a great chance not only to soak up some culture in a family-friendly atmosphere, but to get acquainted with the facilities and staff at Broadway School of Music and the Arts. 5415 Broadway Avenue in the historic Hruby Conservatory. Free.
• Sunday, February 16, 3 pm. Arts Renaissance Tremont presents trios for piano, violin and cello at Pilgrim Congregational United Church of Christ, 2592 West 14th St. in Tremont. Suggested donation of $10.
