Summer Camp for Families
No matter how much they gain from urban living, all children need to spend some significant moments running through the grass, hiking in the forest, and falling into lakes. For more than a hundred years, Centerville Mills YMCA camp has offered this opportunity to the youth of Greater Cleveland. But you may not be aware that it also offers it to parents.
If you have young children who may not be ready yet for residential summer camp, if you never had the chance to experience summer camp as a child, or if you are just looking for a way to get away from the bustle of summer holiday weekends, pick up a brochure about Centerville Mills from the West Side YMCA and learn about Family Camp weekends. Offered twice during the season — on Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends — family camp features many of the same activities as traditional camp programs: horseback riding, camp-fires, fishing, and much more.
To tour the camp, meet the staff, and sample some of the fun, attend Centerville Mills’ open house on Sunday, May 4, between 1 and 4 pm. The camp is located on Route 306 south of Route 422, in Chagrin Falls. Call 1-877-CVM-YMCA for details.
