The West Side YMCA is “officially” saved but we still have to raise $20,000 by the end of the year. Please mark your calendars for the First Annual “Y” White Elephant Sale on Saturday, September 13th, 10 AM to 5 PM.We are looking for donations of goods to sell and people to help with the sale. Our goal is to raise $1500! Ways you can help:
1. Set aside items for the sale. We are mainly interested in items such as household goods/working appliances, “collectibles,” kids and baby toys and clothing, books/tapes/CDs, sports gear, backpacks/outerwear, bikes, SMALL furniture that can be carried by one person. Due to lack of storage and floor space, we are NOT INTERESTED in adult clothing, large/heavy furniture, broken or nonworking items.
2. Help at the sale. We need people for pricing on Friday, 9/12, set-up on Saturday, 9/13 at 7:30 AM, help during the sale hours, clean up on Saturday after 5 PM
3. Contribute to the bake sale or plant sale that will take place concurrently with the White Elephant Sale.
4. Pass the word along to your friends, church groups, etc.
White Elephant Sales are always a lot of fun for workers and buyers. This one will be GREAT. Please contact me if you have questions or can voluteer to help.
