Jazz at the Greenhouse
Every time I get to feeling down on my adopted hometown, I head over to the Rockefeller Greenhouse with my kids. Beautiful and different every single time you visit, this little treasure is always free and open to the public, including on weekends and holidays, from 10 am to 4 pm.
This weekend, they’re going to try something new at the Greenhouse, which has recently had a face lift to the lobby area (and now has some of the most attractive restrooms in any public facility in the city). The Friends of Greenhouse ar sponsoring a free jazz concert featuring Eddie Baccus, Jr. and Straight to the Point. It’ll be held on Saturday, September 6 from 1-3 pm (or on Sunday the 7th at the same time if rained out). Bring a blanket or lawn chair — and your kids. If they get restless, the cleaner-than-average Sam Miller Park is directly across the street, so close that you’ll probably be able to hear the music loud and clear.
The Greenhouse is located just off Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive, at the top of East 88th Street. Call 216-664-3103 to find out more.
