Tri-C’s Showtime at High Noon Begins with Two Dance Programs
I wonder if the people at Cuyahoga Community College are aware that their Showtime at High Noon series has long encouraged the practice of playing hooky. I know I’m contemplating whether my little scholars ought to develop a slight fever or a troubling cough this month on Thursday, October 16 and again on Thursday, October 30.
On the 16th, Urban Bush Women will present a high-energy program combining traditional African dance, street dance, drums and puppetry at the Allen Theatre. Two weeks later, it’s dance again — this time featuring Luna Negra’s contemporary fusion of traditional Latin dance, modern dance and ballet.
All Showtime at High Noon programs begin at 12 pm (naturally) and are free to anyone who can get down to Playhouse Square early enough to snag a seat.
If you feel obliged to present a good example to your child by not encouraging them to ditch school for the first internationally-acclaimed artist who offers to perform for them for free, you can always take them to the full-length evening events.
